What is ICSI Fertility Treatment?
ICSI fertility treatment involves injecting a single, healthy sperm into a mature egg in a lab setting. This technique bypasses natural fertilisation barriers and maximises the chances of conception, especially when sperm cannot penetrate the egg on their own. Intracytoplasmic sperm injection is a helpful procedure for men with reduced sperm count and motility.

When Should You Consider Laser-Assisted Hatching?
Not every IVF cycle requires this method. However, Laser-Assisted Hatching (LAH) Treatment in IVF can be a helpful option if:
- You have had two or more failed IVF cycles.
- You are undergoing frozen embryo transfer (FET).
- You are over 38 years old.
- You have elevated FSH levels or poor ovarian reserve.
- You are facing unexplained infertility.
- Your embryo’s outer shell appears thicker or harder under observation.
Our fertility experts will review your medical history and embryo development before recommending this technique.

When is ICSI Treatment Essential?
- The male partner has a low count and motility of sperm.
- Previous IVF cycles have failed.
- Usage of surgically retrieved sperm.
- There is a history of unexplained infertility.
How Does the ICSI Process Work at Yellow IVF?
An ICSI procedure includes 6 primary steps. At first, the female partner receives hormonal medication to stimulate the ovaries and produce multiple mature eggs. Once the eggs are ready, a minor outpatient procedure is performed to retrieve them from the ovaries. Sperm is collected either naturally or via a minor surgical procedure. We then select the healthiest sperm for injection.
Using micromanipulation tools, a single sperm is injected directly into each mature egg in our high-tech laboratory. The embryos are kept under observation for days. The healthiest embryo is then transferred to the uterus for implantation. After 2 weeks, we perform a blood test to confirm pregnancy and offer continued support regardless of the result.
What is the ICSI Procedure's Cost?
At Yellow IVF, we believe in affordable and honest fertility care. While exact costs vary based on individual medical needs and additional treatments like medication or diagnostics, we provide:

A transparent cost breakdown

No hidden fees or last-minute charges

Financial guidance to help you plan confidently

Cost-effective treatment packages tailored to your reproductive goals

A financial plan, like Yellow Contract, will help you plan better.
What are the Complications of ICSI Treatment?
Similar to other fertility treatments, IUI is often misunderstood. Let our fertility experts clear up some common myths regarding IUI, so you can move forward with confidence:
Egg Damage
During egg retrieval, there is a possibility that the procedure may affect egg quality. To reduce this risk, our fertility experts handle each egg with exceptional care.
Limited Embryo Development
Even after fertilisation, some embryos may stop at early stages, like the four-cell phase. To boost success, our embryologists culture multiple embryos for better development chances.
Designed for Couples
IUI is an inclusive fertility option. Whether you are a single woman or part of the LGBTQ+ community, you can opt for this process.
Guaranteed Pregnancy
No fertility treatment can guarantee success. IUI offers increased chances if done timely and paired with fertility medications.

FAQ about ICSI Fertility Treatment
While traditional IVF conducts the process of fertilisation in labs, ICSI involves directly injecting a healthy sperm into the egg.
Yes, ICSI is specifically designed to overcome poor sperm quality or quantity by manually selecting and injecting a single healthy-looking sperm.
The process of ICSI generally does not impact embryo development. Since it aids in assisted fertilisation, post-than embryo development follows the same process as in IVF.
It is important to understand that ICSI does influence the gender of the baby; the injected sperm does so, like a natural conception.
Embryologists at Yellow IVF select sperm based on their motility and morphology. We employ advanced procedures and tools to make the sperm selection process more accurate and faster.
